Carl Finney:
has been involved in judo for over 45 years. Within the period he has competed at the highest level and during his competitive career he won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland (1990) and Edinburgh in (1986).
He is still actively involved in coaching at the highest level where he travels extensively throughout the world carrying out his coaching duties.
Anne Loughnane:
I have 20 years judo experience. I am a 2nd Dan Black Belt and represented the Northwest Area. I am one of the lead coaches at the Wirral Judo Club and a qualified British Judo Association Coach.
I am currently Merseyside County Coach and have 10 years’ experience working in schools with Judo Education.
Antony Parkinson:
I have been taking part in judo for over 20 years and in my competitive career I was a National Silver Medallist and represented Great Britain at Cadet level.
I am a 2nd Dan Black Belt and am a qualified British Judo Association coach.
I have been a full-time professional coach for 7 years working with Judo Education.
Christopher Soakell:
I have been practicing judo for over 26 years, coaching for 20 and for the last 10 years coaching in schools for Judo Education.
I am 3rd Dan Black Belt and a Senior Club Coach with the British Judo Association. I am also the head coach of the Wirral Judo Club. In 2006 I was awarded Wirral Sports Coach of the year and then went on to win the Merseyside Coach of the year award.
Dale Lawton:
I am a 1st Kyu Level 2 Judo Coach with the British Judo Association. I have practiced martial arts for over 20 years, and I am still an active competitor.
I am a coach at Gracie-Barra Warrington and for Judo Education. I also hold a 1st Dan Black belt in Shukokai Karate and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Matt Thomas:
I have been practising Archery for the past 16 years and have competed at county level at both junior and senior level for Cheshire. I obtained my coaching qualification over 5 years ago and have since been heavily involved with not only coaching at my club based on, but also with the junior Cheshire County squad.
Dan Hankinson:
Dan has 8 years coaching experience and currently runs 2 Judo Clubs in the Blackpool area.
Nicholas Murphy:
I have been fencing for over 9 years and I am still highly competitive at regional and national level. I am an England Fencing Level 3 Coach in Epee, Foil and saber.
In 2009 I was the Northwest Area Champion at Epee and in 2008 and 2009 was the Northwest Master at Arms. I have been working with Fencing Education as a full-time professional coach within the schools for over 2 years which I find most rewarding.
James Parkinson:
I am a L2 British Fencing coach with 5 years coaching experience. I also run two successful Clubs in Lytham and Chorley.
Natalie Fox:
I have played Softball for over 20 years and began coaching juniors in 2001.
I am lead coach at Lytham St Annes Softball Club and Head Coach for GB Men’s U16s Softball. I hold a Level 2 coaching grade for Baseball & Softball. I am also a qualified Instructor with Archery GB (Oct 2023-2026)
